Folk singer songwriter performs September 23 & 24 in Brookfield to support Share Food Share Love Pantry
BROOKFIELD IL - “Chicago’s official troubadour,” Mark Dvorak will perform two shows in Brookfield to support the Share Food Share Love Pantry, 9030 Brookfield Avenue. Both events are presented by Music & Potlucks, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting our neighbors in need.
On Monday, September 23 at 7:00 pm a one-hour concert, “ Share Food Share Love: An Acoustic Evening with Mark Dvorak” will take place on the Plaza at the Linda Francis Sokol Brookfield Library, 3541 Park Avenue. In case of inclement weather the event will be moved indoors.
There is no admission charge but listeners are encouraged to bring a grocery bag of non-perishible food items, toiletries or make a cash donation. 100% of the funds collected will go directly to Share Food Share Love. For information phone 708.485.6917 or visit www.brookfieldlibrary.info.
On Tuesday, September 24 at 10:00 am, Dvorak returns to Loca Mocha, 8858 Burlington Avenue for a special “Maria’s Morning Coffee House,” also to support Share Food Share Love.

“We are a granting organization,” said Stephanie Schrodt, Co-Director of Music & Potlucks. "In the last seven years we’ve presented almost two-hundred local concerts and events to support other non-profits who serve those in need in our community.”
“Since the beginning,” she said, “Mark has been with us every step of the way, planning, performing and leading our monthly folk jam at the Friendly Community in Berwyn.”
Dvorak is celebrating the launch of his 20th recorded release, Live & Alone, recorded during the great pandemic in an empty concert hall and the publication of 31 Winters: Finding the Folk Way, a collection of essays and stories reflecting on his long journey through teaching and music.
“At this stage of the game,” said the Dvorak from his home outside Chicago, Illinois, “I feel like I’m doing my best work.”
The Chicago Tribune has called Dvorak “masterful,” and the Fox Valley Folk Festival describes him as “a living archive of song and style.” Dvorak has won awards for journalism and children’s music, and was honored in 2013 with the FARM Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Alliance International.
In 2008 he received the Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2012 Rich Warren, long time host of The Midnight Special radio program named Dvorak “Chicago’s official troubadour.”
