Catch The Twain: The Musical comes to Rockford May 27

ROCKFORD IL - Wesley Willows, 4142 Johns Farm Road welcomes “Catch The Twain: The Musical” to its concert presentation series on Tuesday, May 27 at 6:30 pm.

The Chautauqua-style performance features Warren Brown as Samuel Clemens, telling stories, jokes and lies with folk musician Mark Dvorak providing period songs, banjo picking and audience participation.

“Warren Brown is Mark Twain,” said Dvorak. “Warren is hilarious. We've been crossing paths for years and it’s been a lot fun working with him to put this show together.”

“Mark and I have been developing this chautauqua style program for over two years now,” said Warren Brown, who has spent over thirty years researching the life and work of Twain. And just like Twain himself, “We like to play off the audience members and each other with stories, jokes and songs."

The Blue Island Public Library calls the show, “Better than Holbrook… almost as good as Twain,” and Humanities Nebraska says, “Brown reaches out to people and makes them laugh and learn at the same time.”

Since 1989 the Pines Dinner Theater has blossomed into a well-known live professional theater features talent from around the country presenting more than thirty shows each year.

There is no admission charge but those interested in attending should phone 815.316.1500.
