Each Saturday through October 31, the market comes alive with vendors from across the Midwest offering a mix of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, golden honey, artisan baked goods, flavorful sauces, handcrafted soaps and one-of-a-kind creations from talented local makers.

“Our market is unique,” said Market Manager Gina Sharenow. “Each week feels like a mini-festival with family-friendly activities, special themed events and music.”

On Saturday, June 27, Brookfield resident Mark Dvorak will make his debut in the Brookfield Farmers Market entertainment area on the lawn overlooking Salt Creek.

Named “Chicago’s official troubadour” by WFMT 98.7 fm “The Midnight Special” radio program, Dvorak will bring his folk, americana and original song bag to the Market on June 27, July 25, August 15, September 5 and October 17.

“The Brookfield Farmers Market is a well-loved community tradition,” said Dvorak. “I’ve always enjoyed visiting the Market and am thrilled to be able to make music as part of the festivities, right here in my home town.”

Dvorak has released twenty CDs including 2024s Live & Alone and 2020s acclaimed Let Love Go On. He has published four books of essays and recently released his first collection of poetry, Twelve Poems.

The Chicago Tribune has called Dvorak “masterful,” and the Fox Valley Folk Festival describes him as “a living archive of song and style.” Dvorak has won awards for journalism and children’s music, and was honored in 2013 with the FARM Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Alliance International. In 2008 he received the Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 2024 the Brookfield Farmers Market was named number one in the Midwest and number four in the nation. For information visit www.brookfieldfarmersmarket.com or phone 773.329.5515.
