DUBUQUE IA - The Carnegie-Stout Library, 360 W. 11th Street presents “Catch The Twain: The Musical” on Saturday, July 1 at 2:00 pm. The entertaining program is family-friendly, and educational.
Warren Brown has spent over thirty years researching the life and work of Twain and portraying America’s greatest humorist him in spoken-word performances across the country.
The Blue Island Public Library calls Brown, “Better than Holbrook… almost as good as Twain,” and Humanities Nebraska says, “Brown reaches out to people and makes them laugh and learn at the same time.”
“Warren Brown is Mark Twain,” said folk musician and songwriter Mark Dvorak who provides the soundtrack to Brown’s performance, performing old-time banjo tunes, period songs and audience participation."
“Warren is hilarious. We've been crossing paths for years and it’s been a lot fun working with him to put this show together.”
The Carnegie-Stout Library was built in 1901 and features an elaborate central rotunda and eight circular Corinthian columns. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
