Some Love

©2018 unrecorded

Nothin seems for certain

except the shadow on the curtain

I lie awake at night and watch it crawl

then dawn creeps in pretending

and it can’t say where it’s been

from these restless fading dreams some love must fall

And nothin seems to matter

each day is like another

and the quiet brings no comfort after all

lookin in the mirror

tryin to see my way clear

from the stillness of this moment some love must fall

Some love must fall

some heart must call

from the stillness of this moment

some love must fall

A summer breeze begins to blowin

the old cottonwood starts snowin

storm clouds full of thunder are growin tall

and with the rain I soon remember

your sad eyes soft and tender

with every broken bitter tear some love must fall

Some love must fall

some heart must call

with every broken bitter tear

some love must fall

In the company of strangers

the waitress picks up change

while sounds of laughter echo down the hall

the music murmurs gentle

in a voice so blue and brittle

from these sighing silver strings some love must fall

Some love must fall

some heart must call

from these sighing silver strings

some love must fall
