Master acoustic guitarists performing in Park Forest May 13
PARK FOREST IL - Edgar’s Place Coffee House at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 70 Sycamore Drive, welcomes Chicago’s “official troubadour” Mark Dvorak and South Haven, Michigan’s guitar master and composer Tom Rasely for a double-bill on Saturday, May 13. The concert begins at 7:30 pm.

“Mark is a very special performer, and a special kind of artist,” said Edgar’s Place concert director Valerie Birk. “He’s been a longtime favorite and we’re thrilled to be wrapping up our season with him."
Dvorak has recorded seventeen albums to date, including his acclaimed 2011 Waterbug release, Time Ain’t Got Nothin’ On Me. In 2012 he was honored with the FARM Lantern Bearer Award by Folk Alliance International, and in 2012 was also named “Chicago's official troubadour” by WFMT 98.7 fm Midnight Special host Rich Warren.
“He’s the real deal,” said Bau Graves, Executive Director of Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music. ”Mark has made music his life and livelihood. He’s been a top faculty member at the school for more than twenty-five years. His performances are elegant, rich and powerful.”
Rasely who has forged a 30-plus year career in music as a composer, arranger, educator, recording artist and touring performer, will open the show.
“I’m looking forward to the show in a big way,” said Rasely, who is a native of upstate New York. Mark and I met in Michigan a few years ago, and we enjoy getting together for a concert every so often. We’ll be bringing a lot of collective experience to the stage.”
