FLINT MI - Chicago's "official" troubadour, Mark Dvorak will return to Flint, MI on Saturday, December 8 for a 7:30 pm concert at the Greater Flint Arts Council, 816 S. Saginaw.

Dvorak, who is Artist-In-Residence at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music, has been promoting his latest CD Time Ain't Got Nothin' On Me (Waterbug), released in 2011.

"I've had a lot fun mixing these newer songs in with traditional favorites," said the singer and instrumentalist. "And I'm so happy the audiences have been really enjoying the new material."

"We're glad to have Mark back in Flint," said Flint Folk Music Society co-ordinator Ron Woods. "He's simply our favorite solo act. We've been looking forward to this show for a long time."

GURNEE IL - The Lake County Folk Club presents "Behind the Song with Mark Dvorak" on Sunday, December 2 at 7:00 pm at In-Laws Restaurant, 720 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Gurnee.

"Behind the Song is our newest concept," said former Lake County Folk Club president Chuck Vander Vennett. "It is an interactive session, part concert and part workshop."

Club members and the general public are welcome to email in their song requests. Dvorak will perform the selections as part of his show, and then spend some time answering questions and discussing process, craft and inspiration.

"We've had a number of requests for Mark to give a song writing workshop," Vander Vennett continued. "And we thought this would be the best way to present the music and give listeners a glimpse into how one goes about creating an original piece of work.  Club President Scott Engstrom has done a great job making this show a reality. I'm looking forward to hearing Mark again, and to asking him a few questions about his songwriting."

Listeners can email their song requests to thelakecountyfolkclub@yahoo.com. General admission is $12, $10 for Lake County Folk Club members. For more information phone 847 602 8882 or visit the Lake County Folk Club on the web at www.thelakecountyfolkclub.org.
