Senior Moments features Chicago’s folk troubadour Mark Dvorak on September 19
ELK GROVE VILLAGE IL - The Elk Grove Village Library, 1001 Wellington Avenue, will present Chicago’s “official troubadour” Mark Dvorak for a special “Senior Moments’ program on Thursday, September 19 at 11:30 am.
"Senior Moments is our special gathering program for adults aged 55 and older,” said Donna McCarthy, Program and Events Coordinator for the library. “Mark had been recommended to us by several of our members and we’re excited to have him entertain our group.”
Dvorak has taken time off of the road this summer work on his eighteenth recorded release, Let Love Go On, due out in October.
“At this stage of the game,” said the singer, “I feel like I’m doing my best work. I’m very excited about the new CD. I’m in the home stretch now with just a few more songs to record. It’s taken me awhile to get the thing together but I’m very proud to have performed, engineered and produced the whole album. I’ve got some new material coming along and will include some of my all-time in-concert favorites too.”
Dvorak has performed in thirty-eight states and in parts of Europe and Canada. He has won awards for journalism and children’s music and was honored in 2008 with the Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievement Award and the FARM Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Alliance in 2013. In 2012, WFMT 98.7 fm Midnight Special host Rich Warren named him “Chicago’s official troubadour.”
