Old Town School Pete Seeger tribute comes to Arlington Heights June 26

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS IL - The Arlington Heights Library, 500 N. Dunton welcomes Chicago’s “official troubadour,” Mark Dvorak for a special concert honoring the legacy of American folk icon, songwriter and activist Pete Seeger. The concert takes place on Sunday, June 26 at 2:00 pm.

The program features Dvorak leading the audience through some of Seeger’s best-known songs, including  “If I Had a Hammer,” “Where Have All the Flowers Gone,” “Turn, Turn, Turn,” and others that have become standard in the American folk repertoire.

Locally Sourced to feature Chicago’s official troubadour

CHICAGO IL - Locally Sourced at the Patio will feature Chicago’s official troubadour Mark Dvorak for two shows on Wednesday, July 6 on the patio at Cafe Brauer, located in the Lincoln Park Zoo, 2001 N. Clark Street. Dvorak will perform at 5:30 pm and at 6:30 pm.

“Wednesdays just got more fun,” said Joshua Rupp, Event Manager at the Lincoln Park Zoo.  “Locally Sourced is our summer program featuring the best local music in Chicago, great food and beer in a landmark setting. We’re excited that Mark was able to join us this year.”

The Friends of Land Between the Lake honored MD with a special recognition for his 18th appearance at the HomePlace Pickin Party on June 11 of this year. 

The Pickin Party takes place each summer at the HomePlace, an 1850s working farm located in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. The festival features music by local and traditional performers and singers and curated demonstrations of authentic nineteenth century folkways art and handiwork. 

Event director Cindy Earls presented Mark with a framed poem composed by Don Williams and a pair of hand-woven mittens.
