Niles Senior Center features Chicago folk artist on April 30

NILES IL - The NIles Senior Center, 999 Civic Center Drive, welcomss Chicago’s “official troubadour” Mark Dvorak for a luncheon concert, “Night Club in the Afternoon" on Monday, April 30. Lunch begins at 12:00 pm and includes a pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, salad and dessert. The music begins at 1:00 pm.

 Dvorak who accompanies himself on guitar, 5-string banjo and 12-string guitar, has performed in thirty-eight states and in parts of Europe and Canada. He has released seventeen albums and has won awards for journalism and children’s music. …

Lansing Public Library celebrates National Poetry Month

LANSING IL - The Lansing Public Library welcomes folk singer, songwriter and author Mark Dvorak who will present “The People, Yes,” on Saturday, April 14 at 2:00 pm. Admission to concert is free. 

“Illinois is 200 years old,” Sandra losue of the Lansing Public Library. “And, April is National Poetry Month. Mark is a favorite with our audience and we’re excited to have him for this very special event."

One of the most celebrated poets of all time, Illinois' own Carl Sandburg wrote an epic poem in the 1930s titled, "The People, Yes,"
