There ain't no cloudy skies in Pueblo Colorado
only sunshine pourin down across the plain
no sad goodbyes in Pueblo Colorado
I'm headed back to Pueblo once again
There ain't no Southern breeze in Pueblo Colorado
just a cold hard wind that will not call you home
no sweet magnolia blossoms in the meadow
no kudzu vine clingin to your bones
And there's a woman out in Pueblo Colorado
she said she'd like to see me once again
her eyes are soft as moonlight on the mesa
her dark hair tumbles down like desert rain
Springtime in the Rockies is just as pretty
there ain't no Smoky Mountain mist to fill the air
I'm headed back to Pueblo Colorado
I know in Pueblo she'll be waitin there
I want to count the stars over Pueblo Colorado
and close my eyes beneath the western sky
hear the whisper of the wind song through the shadows
and dream a Pueblo Colorado lullaby
There ain't no cloudy skies in Pueblo Colorado
only sunshine pourin down across the plain
no sad goodbyes in Pueblo Colorado
I'm headed back to Pueblo once again
